The Amazon Jungle Guide

Gerson Pizango

Location

Gerson’s village is on the bank of the Yarapa River, one of the mighty Amazons many tributaries. It is 1½ hours by Taxi then 2½ hours by boat away from Iquitos, the largest city in the world not accessible by road. From Iquitos you can fly to Lima or Tarapoto, or take multi-day cargo ferries up the Amazon into Colombia or Brazil (highly recommended for the more adventurous traveller!).
